My last post here

Hello readers,

I wanted to update you on something.

I now have my own website: The Positivity Workshop.

I’d love for you to join me over there.

You can follow my blog there, and I’ll be adding some resources on positivity.

It is early days… so please bear with me while I get started! 🙂

In the meantime, I wanted to share something with you.

I have made a lot of changes in my life this year.

I quit the job I hated.

I took the summer off to do whatever the hell I wanted.

I took a course on finding your passion and making a living from it.

And it rocked 🙂

I started blogging.

People said nice things about my blog… which I am still so grateful for.

I went to a conference in another country and met some of my heroes.

I took a life coaching course, and I’ve discovered a side of me I never knew existed.

But here’s what you ALSO need to know about me:

I am nervous a lot of the time.

I can be weak.

I worry about everything.

I’m afraid to speak my mind most of the time.

I procrastinate.

I have many so to-do lists that I add to daily, but I barely cross anything off.

I am scared.

I don’t know how things will work out.

I’m considered a bit of a “failure” in my family.

So what I’m saying is…

If I can do it, you most certainly can 🙂

Whatever it is you want to do.

If a terrified, nervous, procrastinating girl can do these things, you most certainly can do things that you never thought were possible.

So good luck.

See you soon.

And let me know how you get on.

Thank you for being with me on this part of my journey 🙂

Create your work manifesto

Today I thought I’d share my work manifesto. This is what I’m striving for, from now on. It might not happen… but writing it down somehow makes it feel more real, and I feel more accountable to it!

Here we go:

1. I want to take holidays when I choose to, not when I am told I can.

2. I want to start my day when I want to, not when someone else tells me I have to.Read More »

My reason for this blog

Hello 🙂

Here’s the story of why I wanted – or felt I needed – to start this blog.

Over the years I’ve had the same conversation many times with girls (I’m not trying to be sexist, it just has been mainly with girls) that has stuck in my head time and time again.

It involves the conversations where the girl in question would say (in response to something I had done, or she wanted to do):

“Oh I’d love to do that, but I never could.”

“I can’t just go and do X!”Read More »

A bit about me

This is my first blog ever post. Welcome!

Here’s a bit of info about the blog…

This is a sort of personal journey – me stumbling along the way to positivity.

One little step at a time.

I’d love you to join me along the way (and then later, there might be workshops too – so if you’re in Vancouver, Canada, I’d love to have you there!)

These are the kinds of things I want to focus on in my blog:

  • How can I “be happier”?
  • Am I chasing an impossible dream?
  • What do I love?
  • What makes me insane with happiness?
  • (And maybe some nice lists, cause I love lists 🙂 )

I’m hoping that as this blog grows and develops, I’ll have learned a bit more about myself, and how I can be the person I want to be – and maybe have helped some other people figure out how they can be the people they want to be.

A little bit more about me to give you some background:

  • I quit my job as an events planner on the cusp of being made director, to focus on/figure out what’s really important to me in life
  • I moved from the UK to Canada three years ago, with a big suitcase and a smile to hide my nerves
  • I’ve dealt with mild depression and major work stress, and I’m now (thankfully) emerging out the other side – like some sort of butterfly… happier and stronger 🙂

That’s all for now.

See you soon!
